Spark plugs are small but mighty pieces in your vehicle. These small metal-ended parts enable the spark that starts up the fuel-burning process. Without spark plugs, say goodbye to starting and going anywhere with your vehicle. Spark plugs also have a role in moving your pistons, which is required to have a balanced fuel and air mixture. If your car, truck, or SUV won't start, you may inherently assume it is a battery problem. But, the problem could very well be due to old spark plugs. In fact, aging spark plugs may very well cause your check engine light to come on. However, it's not safe to assume that every check engine light is due to ineffective spark plugs either.
